Make the Habit

It's a new year.  Literally for me.  And that's tomorrow.  I'm turning 39.  My God.  Is it really been that long?  I couldn't help but think of the life that I had before me.  Remembering the faces, places, events that made me who I am today.  I am just thankful. God has been good to me all these years.  No matter how dark some of them are.  And even we still have those moments of frustrations, anxieties, depressions... err.  I still can't help myself thanking Him for everything. And so for this year, I would definitely try to make it a habit to share my life in this blog.  Maybe somewhere out there someone would pick up a thing or two from my thoughts. And that, I guess, would make life a bit more meaningful for me.

Daily Grind

Angst: " Umalis ka ng office maliwanag pa. Nakauwi ka madilim na ." - When in fact it should've only took 15 minutes of travel time from Makati to Marikina. More fun in the Philippines!

Back!

An empty mind.  A Rivermaya song in my ears.  Almost the witching hour.  I'm back!!

Tagaytay Weekend Getaway

Image
The last time I've been to Tagaytay was way back when I was still in college ages ago. The opportunity to go back came last weekend as we celebrated my old man's 62nd birthday and it was (always) a pleasant experience to spend the weekend with your family. I slept halfway through the trip in going there as I only had a little sleep because I stayed 'til the wee hours waiting to finish downloading a game from the Internet. I woke up near the exit that we're suppose to take and immediately oriented myself to where we are already. We stopped to relieve ourselves at Paseo dela Rosa in Sta. Rosa, Laguna along Tagaytay Rd. It was no surprise that I am a bit famished as it is past 12 noon already and I didn't had any breakfast. Everyone was talking about the famous ' bulalohan ' (beef marrow stew) eateries that have sprung throughout the eminent city. My brother-in-law took us to one that he knew is the cheapest place where we can get one in the eastern side

From across the miles

Today I had the chance to call over long distance an old friend from way back, RJ Matias . We practically grew up spending our teenage years together in the same neighborhood. I missed the guy so much that I had to spend at least 10 minutes with him chatting about old times and tried to catch up as much as we can. Time has gotten the best from both of us and I just wish we would once again see each other some time in the future. We had so many things in common and the friendship that we had is one of those that transcends distance and time. Even though we don't see each other anymore nor talk to each other like we used to, there's always a part of us that would always go back to those days where we just couldn't care about anything else except basketball, guitar, cars and... girls. I am proud of him being enlisted in the US Army serving his new country. I guess life for him now is for the better thanks to his better half and their two bundles of joy, Tristan and CJ - a

3 Filipinos executed in China

Image
I join the nation in mourning for the three Filipinos that were executed in China yesterday. My heart goes out to their respective families for the untimely loss of their loved ones in this manner. This should be another reason for me to hate our government more for exerting more effort to curb the drug problem that has been plaguing our country for several years now. Oh yeah they can just say that they are exerting all efforts to do so but of course there is the other frame of thought that there's money involved and when money talks, everyone listens. And we're talking about millions or even gazillions of money being passed around just to keep our law enforcement at bay. Yeah they get to bag some big fish from time to time but I'm pretty sure that the wheels of justice is still turning at a slow pace to even hand down a verdict. And if there's a verdict, the maximum penalty is life imprisonment. And with the ever growing population of criminals in our penal system
